The Honorary Chairman of the fourth day of the 7th Sarv-e Simin Festival said: This festival is the only event that has the mission of selecting and displaying the higher quality and fine artworks in the fields of traditional arts and handicrafts.
According to the news staff of the 7th Fajr International Handicrafts and Traditional Arts Festival (Sarv-e Simin-e 7), Mohsen Kaveh, holder of the First Degree Artistic Certificate in the field of Moarragh (marquetry), was the honorary chairman of the 4th day of the festival and planted the fourth cypress sapling.
He said: I have been working in this field for many years and training art students in the workshops. Also, I teach Moarragh (marquetry) at Tabriz Islamic Art, Al-Zahra, and Soore Universities. Moarragh (marquetry) is one of the attractive fields of Iranian traditional arts and has the potential to create various artworks using wood.
Kaveh continued: This festival is the only event that has the mission of selecting and displaying the higher quality and fine artworks in the fields of traditional arts and handicrafts, which are very impressive artworks. In the past, we didn’t have this section, and traditional arts were combined with business, and artisans who presented magnificent and higher quality artworks were not seen. Now, traditional artisans are considered as creators of magnificent and higher quality artworks.
This artisan said: Fajr festival pays attention to all fields of handicrafts and pays special attention to exquisite artworks.
The 7th edition of Fajr International Handicrafts and Traditional Arts Festival (Sarv-e Simin-e 7), is being held from 15-23 February at National Museum of Iran.
