Gholam Ali Haddad Adel said: In this critical economic period and despite the numerous sanctions against the country, we need new sources of foreign currency income and establishing a global market for handicrafts will be very useful in order to earn foreign currency.
According to the news staff of the 7th Fajr International Handicrafts and Traditional Arts Festival (Sarv-e Simin-e 7), Gholam Ali Haddad Adel; the head of Academy of Persian Language and Literature, during his visit to the festival, said: handicrafts festival is a mirror of the identity and culture of Iranians, and the existence of handicrafts today is a sign of the continuation of this identity.
He added: the spirit of aesthetics and beautification of Iranian artisans has manifested in Iranian handicrafts in the world.
The head of Academy of Persian Language and Literature stated: I hope that holding this festival will give more encouragement to artisans, as well as the qualitative and quantitative growth of handicrafts art in the country and its better introduction at the international level.

Haddad Adel said in the end: We should help handicrafts to move out of the one-dimensional and only museum status and into the family’s living expenses basket.
The 7th edition of Fajr International Handicrafts and Traditional Arts Festival (Sarv-e Simin-e 7), is being held from 15-23 February at National Museum of Iran.
