According to the news staff of the 7th Fajr International Handicrafts and Traditional Arts Festival (Sarv-e Simin-e 7), Mohammad Reza Dashti Ardakani; chairman of the Iranian Parliament’s tourism fraction, in the closing ceremony of the festival said: Handicrafts is one of the most important economic issues. Handicrafts is the manifestation of the art of this land’s people.
He added: Handicrafts are the intangible heritage and you can see the transfer to the identity roots of this land. Iran has historically been an industrial land. A mentality that was formed by making industry synonymous with revolution.
Dashti Ardakani said: In this land, art has never existed without industry and industry has never existed without art. In this period, we are witnessing a new look at the handicrafts of the country, and an attempt was made to keep the experience and taste of the handicrafts of Iranians in harmony with the Iranian Islamic lifestyle.
He continued: Linking handicrafts to people’s livelihood is a right and fundamental thing, and in line with the slogan of the year, handicrafts are one of the main fields for realization of the slogan of the year.
Chairman of the Iranian Parliament’s cultural heritage, tourism and handicrafts fraction stated: Iran’s turning point for its presence in other countries is the issuance of the Islamic Revolution. The 7th festival was an opportunity to introduce the culture of this land, which was held with presence of artisans’ community, and it was a very valuable and perdurable measure.
The 7th edition of Fajr International Handicrafts and Traditional Arts Festival (Sarv-e Simin-e 7), was held from 15-23 February at National Museum of Iran.
