Ezzatollah Zarghami, pointing out that handicrafts are taken from Iranian peoples’ life, said: the most important pillar that supports subcultures is the handicrafts of countries.
According to the news staff of the 7th Fajr International Handicrafts and Traditional Arts Festival (Sarv-e Simin-e 7), the Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts stated: Handicrafts is the largest art community and the closest art field to our culture and civilization and the identity of our national and religious values.
He added: there is no community and association as extensive, pure, artistic and closely related to art, culture and Islamic values as traditional arts and handicrafts.
Zarghami continued: The most important pillar that supports subcultures is the handicrafts of countries. If India has a rich culture and it preserves its intellectuals efforts against foreign culture, it is with the help of handicrafts.
The Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts said: Handicrafts are taken from Iranian peoples’ life. All the beauties and values and artistic skills in the country, along with these values such as hijab and chastity, show that the traditions of different peoples and ethnic communities have left impacts and artworks for us.
He added: In a meeting with the presence of president, it was decided handicrafts markets to be set up at the entrances of all cities within the next year, so that they can manufacture their products and display their artworks to reach the production level, and as a result our handicrafts can be utilitarian and practical and contribute to the further prosperity of this field.
In the end, Zarghami recommended: ID cards should be issued to handicrafts activists, because they are valuable families of handicrafts.
The 7th edition of Fajr International Handicrafts and Traditional Arts Festival (Sarv-e Simin-e 7), was held from 15-23 February at National Museum of Iran.
