According to the news staff of the 7th Fajr International Handicrafts and Traditional Arts Festival (Sarv-e Simin-e 7), Mohammad Taghi Ashouri; The retired professor of the University of Arts and the juror of Sarv-e Simin Festival said: fine artworks were presented in this festival and valuable artworks could be found in it.

Ashuri added: In general, one should not expect artistic work from handicrafts, because they are works that should be produced and find their own consumption market. Today, handicrafts are not used in peoples’ daily lives.

He said: From the Seljuk or Safavid periods, people knew handicrafts, and grandmothers kept these handicrafts in chests and transmitted them from generation to generation to their grandchildren.

Emphasizing the fact that more attention should be paid to handicrafts, this veteran professor of the university said: For example, if Shahreza pottery improves and its quality increases by a few degrees, people will use it. If we fix the weaknesses, Shahreza pottery can find a good position, instead of the Shahreza potter working for several months to make an artistic pottery and put it in the showcase.
