Vida Tohdi stated: For the first time, the educational section has been added to the Fajr International Handicrafts and Traditional Arts Festival, which has been welcomed by enthusiasts from all over the country.
According to the news staff of the 7th Fajr International Handicrafts and Traditional Arts Festival (Sarv-e Simin-e 7), Vida Tohdi; Director General for Education and Promotion of Handicrafts and art and culture manager of this edition of Fajr International Handicrafts and Traditional Arts Festival said: the educational section added to this edition of the festival for the first time, has been welcomed by enthusiasts from all over the country.
She added: besides Iranian instructors who give presentations in these workshops, three of the best instructors in the fields of design and business from Singapore, Oman and Palestine are present in our educational programs during the festival and they will talk about their experiences in these workshops.
Tavahodi, stating that three educational workshops with the presence of international instructors and seven educational workshops with the presence of Iranian instructors are planned for this edition, said: Professor Joseph Lo from Singapore is the instructor in “Culture Based Product, Developed, Design & Training” Workshop. In other words, talking about how to use cultural symbols in design is subject of Joseph Lo presentation. Joseph Lo is the consultant for the Asia-Pacific region of the World Crafts Council and manages the “Design and Authenticity” training courses at the World Crafts Council. In another workshop, Mr. Osama Stait from Palestine talks about ” Preserving Handicrafts is the Preserving of Palestine Identity”. In this workshop, he shares his experiences in Palestine about preserving the identity of handicrafts.
She continued: Ahmad Al Farsi from Oman will also talk about “How to develop business”. Considering that the inscription of Intangible Cultural Heritage elements is also important in this festival, Shervin Goudarzi gives presentation regarding this issue in a workshop. Talking about the “Good Practices of Ecotourism in Handicrafts Domain” is the title of another workshop presented by Yavar Abiri. “Designing and Developing Business Structure Compatible with Sustainable Development Paradigm and High Resilience in Creative Cultural Industries Domain (especially Handicrafts and Ecotourism) ” is another workshop in which Pourang Pour Hosseini gives presentation. Manijeh Khalili, one of the researchers of traditional arts, is instructor in “Handicrafts and environment” workshop. Also, the workshop on “Historical Analysis of Khatam Kari Doors preserved in Iran National Museum “will be held with Samira Arab presentation.
At the end, Vida Tohdi declared: the experiences of the instructors present in these workshops is definitely attractive and audible to the participants and they will have their own audiences. Attending these workshops is completely free and participants from all provinces of the country are present in them.
The 7th edition of “Fajr International Handicrafts and Traditional Arts Festival” (Sarv-e Simin-e7), is being held on 15-23 February at National Museum of Iran.
