On the third day of the 7th Fajr Handicrafts and Traditional Arts Festival, beautiful tunes of Azerbaijani and Kurdish music resonated in the National Museum of Iran.
According to the news staff of the 7th Fajr Handicrafts and Traditional Arts Festival (Sarv-e Simin-e 7), on the third day of the festival, “Major” traditional music band from Kurdistan and “Azar Yildirim” from East Azerbaijan province performed Maghami music with a pleasant combination of dancing and playing Iranian musical instruments.
Mohammad Mohammadi; the head of “Azar Yildirim” band from East Azerbaijan province said: I have been working in the field of music and ritual performances for 25 years and I am the artistic representative of UNESCO in Iran and the secretary of folklore and cultural promoters of Tabriz governorate.
He added: ritual performances are taken from the daily life of the brave people of Azerbaijan, which are recounted in three parts; the first part is the time from birth to death, the best of which is the ritual of marriage and courtship. The second part is related to the rituals of the lunar year and religious occasions. The third part also includes various rituals of the solar year.
The 7th edition of Fajr International Handicrafts and Traditional Arts Festival (Sarv-e Simin-e 7), is being held from 15-23 February at National Museum of Iran.
