About Festival

With respect to necessity of introducing Iran’s handicrafts and traditional arts in domestic and international markets and the urgent need for using promotional facilities in order for realization of this goal, broad and extensive consultations were carried out with supreme council of cultural revolution from 2015, during which, then Cultural Heritage, handicrafts and Tourism Organization (now Ministry of Cultural heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts) was obliged to put organizing and holding Fajr handicrafts festival on its agenda and holds it annually. Deputy for handicrafts and traditional arts was assigned the responsibility of the program, and after required planning and organizing, 1st festival was held in 2016 at national level. During 6th festival in 2022, regarding the necessity for introducing the capacities of Iran’s handicrafts and traditional arts to the world, it was decided the festival be held at the international level as well.
